Delays and more delays

I'm waiting for a bunch of deliveries at the moment so not a lot is getting done. (Which is why I haven't been posting for a few days)

It doesn't really matter because the first outdoors planting won't be happening for a couple of weeks yet.

This is the slowest month in the gardening calendar. I will be doing some more planting indoors over the next few days but there's no rush right now.

I'll post again whan things start happening.

  1. Its good to see Brickhurst at last getting a front line internet prescence - you seem to have been hiding in the Weald undergrowth people!

I would say from my impression that Brickhurt needs lots more energy - lots of space that is currently not being worked that could be - perhaps some sort of fruit/nut tree meadow undergrazed with local proviance sheep/cattle?..and it would be nice to do it communally (rather than individuals having small areas of their own) - difficult it is to do that. So I think more people need to be living/staying at Brickhurst that are actually doing lots of work on site, rather than essentially using the site as a homebase for work outside, which is in many cases the situation at present.

Also perhaps you might persued Matt to cease burning large amounts of plastic waste?! - you can actually smell it when cycling by the site of the A21! Not really that sound guys! (He burns waste plastic from the scrap food collected from Tescos thats used as pig feed).

Sharing: This is what its all about, especially if you've ever been with the 'peace convoy' then you'll 'know'. Aim for sharing structure both on site and in the local community, rather than 'market' systems. (ideally).

    All the best!

  2. I'd quite like to see a few cattle but then we'd need a dairy and without running water that could be a problem.

I agree about the plastic but Matt is returning most of it to the people he gets the fruit off nowadays (He's getting fruit that's been rejected by supermarkets and feeding them that. The distribution company takes back the plastic).

We do share, I get bits and pieces of help from everybody and this garden is for all of us. I'm hoping to produce enough to at least make us self sufficient (As much as is possible)

Nice to have someone post a comment, you're the first :)
